How much does it cost to ship a car from Canada to Europe?
RORO from Halifax to Italy typically runs $1,400–$1,800 CAD. Shared container is $1,800–$2,200. Full 40ft is $4,000–$4,500. The actual quote depends on origin city, vehicle dimensions, and destination port. We send a written estimate in under a business hour.
How long does shipping take?
Toronto to Italian ports: 18–24 days RORO, 14–18 days container. Toronto to UK: 12–16 days. Toronto to South America: 20–30 days. We send sailing dates with every quote.
Is my shipment insured?
Our CIFFA-standard liability covers handling. Marine cargo insurance — which covers the value of the goods themselves during ocean transit — is optional and not included by default. We can arrange it; we strongly recommend it for vehicles over $10,000 and household moves over $25,000.
What can't I ship?
No lithium batteries (including in e-bikes, scooters, or laptops in household loads), no propane tanks, no firearms or ammunition, no hazardous goods. Full prohibited-items list is in the booking docs. Vehicles must be drained of fuel below ¼ tank.
Who handles customs?
We do — at both ends. CBSA on the Canadian side, the destination customs authority on the other. For Italy and other EU destinations we file ICS2 advance manifests on your behalf. You only sign the consignee paperwork.
What if something is damaged?
Photograph everything on delivery — that's the first step. Notify us within 7 days. If marine cargo insurance is in place, we file the claim with the underwriter on your behalf. If damage is our handling fault, our CIFFA liability applies.
